Brock has been awarded number honors through the years, including the Outstanding Missourian Award, which is presented by the Missouri House of Representatives, and the Small Business Advocate of the Year Award, which is given by the Clay County Economic Development Council.
This year’s parade marshal is a longtime real estate professional, as well as a certified shopping center manager and property manager.
“Described as the perfect gentlemen, friend, advsior, confidant and loyal supporter, this year’s parade marshal has served in countless volunteer and professional capacities throughout Gladstone, Clay County, the greater Northland and beyond,” McCanles said.
Brock has been a continuous supporter of several Northland organizations.
“Always a sponsor of Bluesfest, Gladfest and the annual (Chamber of Commerce) awards celebration, this member is who we can call when any need arises, as we will be greeted with an open ear and willingness to help,” McCanles said.
In 2008, Brock was honored with the moment of silence by Congressman Sam Graves in the U.S. House of Representatives for being awarded the Alexander Doniphan Community Service Award on the 200th anniversary of Doniphan’s birth.
“Ray Brock has dedicated his entire life to giving back to the community,” Graves said on the House floor. “From being a member of the Board of College Hill, Inc., to a pioneer in the development of the Northland area, Ray has shown committed excellence over the years.”
