Curry Real Estate Services Supports Synergy Services’ Kindest Kansas Citian
Since 1924, Curry Real Estate Services has continually invested in the community, and in its employees who serve as leaders in the community. It’s the Curry way.
“Giving back always has been important to Curry, and we are glad to support organizations like Synergy Services that benefit our Northland community,” said Ellen Todd, president and CEO of Curry Real Estate Services.
Brynn McCan, Curry’s Vice President of Executive Administration, began working with Synergy Services, an organization that provides assistance and services to individuals impacted by domestic violence, after she graduated from college.
Since then, she has filled many needs in the organization, most recently serving as co-chair of Synergy’s largest and longest running event, the Kindest Kansas Citian Awards.
Now in its 29th year, Kindest Kansas Citian celebrates the ripple effect of kindness and honors the contributions of 20 community leaders and one school. As co-chair, McCan selected a dedicated committee, including Suzanne Licata and Enza Brancato, also of Curry Real Estate Services, to assist in organizing the event.
The committee began its work in January to design programs and table decor, solicit sponsorships and items for the live auction and review the more than 5,000 student-written essays they received to select just 20 finalists.
“The Kindest Kansas Citian event requires much preparation, but it is extremely rewarding to give back to an organization that I am so passionate about,” McCan said. “I am also grateful to everybody at Curry for their support. It is wonderful to work with a team that supports its employee’s philanthropic efforts.”
The event was held on May 3, 2019, at Arrowhead Stadium. Guests had the opportunity to tour the stadium, meet KC Wolf, experience the sports lab and enjoy drinks and dinner in the North Club. Curry Real Estate sponsored a table, and with the support of all the sponsors and donors, the event raised more than $185,000 to support Synergy’s school based violence prevention program and continue to prevent violence and bullying in the Kansas City area.
