Community Engagement

Curry Real Estate Services invests continually to make a difference in it’s communities and has since its founding in 1924. While individual Curry team members and groups involve themselves in multiple causes throughout the area, the company recently has committed its efforts to the following organizations or events:

CURRY AND AAKC BUILD A CEREAL CASTLE FOR SYNERGY SERVICES

Sometimes more is more and that is especially true in community service such as when Curry Real Estate Services and the Apartment Association of Kansas City’s Community Outreach Committee came together to help stock the shelves for Synergy Service’s domestic violence center. (August 3, 2023)

The organization revved up the cereal and snack drive by including a competition – and we cannot resist a competition – among all those donating product, who can build the coolest creation with the collected items? We gave it our best building a Frosted Flakes-Cheerios-Cap’n Crunch-Chewy bars-oatmeal-to-go castle, complete with three towers and a bridge.

You can build a pretty big cereal/snack castle when you have hundreds of boxes of cereal and breakfast bars. It was a good time for a good cause.

The cause – Synergy Services – provides a full continuum of care to assist individuals and families with immediate respite from violence and with services which empower clients to find and choose good options for future safety and success. Curry Real Estate Services has been a proud supporter of the organization for decades.

We also are fans of the Apartment Association of Kansas City. Curry staff is involved in and learns from the organization which provides legislative insight on a local and state level for matters that affect the apartment industry.

SYNERGY SERVICES CHILDREN CENTER

Employees from Curry Real Estate Services,  a full-service commercial real estate broker and property management company,  recently donated their time to wrap Christmas gifts, sort winter coats and organize perishable food at Synergy Services’ Children Center.

More than 45 Curry employees spent their afternoon at the children’s center helping to get ready for the Christmas festivities this year. Wrapping gifts that they brought as well as many donated toys, clothes and toiletries for the families that would wake up on Christmas morning in hopes that Santa had stopped by.

HOUSE OF HOPE

There is a standing volunteer opportunity that associates of Curry Real Estate Services have signed up for more than once.

House of Hope and long-time Curry tenant Hillsong Kansas City (formerly The Cause Church)  have worked with Go Fresh Produce and the United States Department of Agriculture to bring local families in need fresh, healthy food in the USDA Farmers to Families Box program.

Some time ago the group passed the 1.5 million mark in meals given to local school districts through @kcpublicschools, @helpkckids, as well as dozens of other organizations, faith institutions and thousands of families in need.

The curbside pickup occurs Fridays at House of Hope, 21 Design Drive in North Kansas City, Missouri, 64116. Anyone unable to attend these Family Fridays or who needs groceries prior to the Friday distribution is encouraged to text “Grocery” to 816.408.3384.

During Family Fridays, Curry associates have joined other volunteers in loading cars with boxes that contain vegetables, dairy, protein and a gallon of milk.

There are other opportunities to help. House of Hope accepts food and clothing donations as well as essential hygiene items such as antibacterial wipes, deodorant, feminine products, hand sanitizer, shampoo and conditioner, soap or body wash. The organization also welcomes baby products like baby wipes, diapers and pull ups, formula and Johnson & Johnson baby soap. Those wanting to contribute these items can do so Tuesday through Friday, 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the 21 Design Drive location in North Kansas City.

The volunteer time is Fridays from 12:15 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. You can go to this link if you would like to sign up.
